HEAVEN AND HELL TRAINING
This month's Beast is quiet possibly the most Brutal form of training. Heaven and Hell training is not for physical strength. In fact it’s designed so that you can’t use strength. When the mind gets exhausted it invariably turns to using muscle in order to get its energy. The problem with this is that you will tend to tense up, and as a result use even more energy.
Heaven and Hell drills are repetitious, awkward and designed so that you can’t use any of the normal tricks that your body would use. They take away your strength, your mind; some even take away the advantage of using breathing for endurance.
Therefore Heaven and Hell drills go straight to the heart. They will cut down any ego driven people. People usually turn to them after they have done Brutal for some time. Heaven and Hell drills take away all the resources you have to do a drill so it leaves you doing it with only the heart. If you want to see the depth of a man’s character give them a Heaven and Hell drill to do. As Haydn would say the true core to Heaven and Hell drills is patience. People give up endeavors because they lack patience and will, and people who lack these qualities in their training generally lack them in their life.
