Mind is Body, Body is Mind
For many of you, the concept of mind / body unification will not be a new one. In my case, the first hint I received was in training in the martial arts. The first time I read about the theories behind a mind / body connection was in Japan but it wasn’t until I first read Deepak Chopra’s ‘Ageless Body, Timeless Mind’ that these theories hit home in more than just a conceptual sense.
From page 16 (Mind and body are inseparably one),
“A basic emotion such as fear can be described as an abstract feeling or as a tangible molecule of the hormone adrenaline. Without the feeling there is no hormone; without the hormone there is no feeling…The revolution we call mind-body medicine was based on this simple discovery: Wherever thought goes, a chemical goes with it.”
It is important to recognize therefore that you don’t simply experience things with your mind; you experience them with your entire being. Every single cell that makes up your body, every molecule that makes up every cell is part of every experience.
