Fundamentalists Suck

I once again refer you to the genius of Brezny’s Pronoia in tackling the issue of fundamentalism on page 186.

The fundamental attitude of all fundamentalists is to take everything way too seriously and way too personally and way too literally. The untrammelled imagination is taboo. Correct belief is the only virtue. Every fundamentalist is committed to waging war against the imagination unless the imagination is enslaved to his or her belief system.

Avoid those that preach absolutes unless of course you find yourself practising fanatical avoidance for its own sake. Fundamentalism reflects that which you have attached yourself to.

The main problem with behaving with this attitude is that you inevitably miss being happy. Words, like spontaneity, carefree, fun and creative leave your world.

And then the magic…
