A New Earth

I have recently been studying the amazing book A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle, author of the equally fantastic, The Power Of Now. The point is simple, to awaken you or to deepen your awakening process, if you are ready. If the book finds its way to you, chances are, that you are ready. In the authors own words;

‘This book’s main purpose is not to add new information or beliefs to your mind or try to convince you of anything, but to bring about a shift in consciousness, that is to say, to awaken..’

It is one of those very rare books, that when you read it, a transformation takes place within you. As you go deeper into the book, you go deeper into your self, that is your true self,  and something falls away. Every word written carries with it a certain power, it is clear it is not written as a bundle of conceptions and ideas, but from a place of pure experience and being, Eckhart clearly walks the walk, and describes some of his experiences throughout the book.The book draws from many sources from Zen , to Christian mysticism, not being bound by the finger but looking directly to the same moon they all point to.

The book is split with the first half making you aware of the problem that we face, our ego and our pain bodies, or as have been refereed to on this site and elsewhere, our demons. This part is truly awakening and you find yourself taking a long hard look at who and what you think you are.
The second half is more ways and means to slay your demons so to speak with chapters such as Finding out who you truly are and Your inner purpose. In this part of the book there is an amazing dialogue in Eckhart’s unique writing style that condenses numerous conversations with people who were looking for their true life purpose. I found this really enlightening and found myself reading it several times, and keep going back to it.
