Offensive Linemen

I’m back coaching for the first time in 5 years & it doesn’t feel like I’m rusty at all. I am really enjoying the experience of coaching with a great staff, which includes my dad (he’s a young 71 year old coach) and coaching my youngest son, Eric, who starts at defensive end.

I take a lot of pride in coaching the offensive and defensive lines. The success or failure of a team depends on how well the lineman block on offense and how well they protect linebackers and make plays on defense.

Basic drills for offensive line play. I don’t believe in fancy, complex drills or blocking schemes. I want lineman that are sure of their assignments, and who are aggressive at the point of attack.

I don’t care if a kid is a novice or a veteran player; we do tons of reps on the basics.
