A Random Attack of Parkour

When I first left school I became a bank teller. It lasted a whole 3 months. But for those 3 months I was a suit wearing Dexter. I even had an Inspector Gadget coat that I proudly wore to my high flying finance job. Even during those times the spirit of Chaos was still very much a part of my life.

Train was my mode of transport and I became familiar with the timetable after a few weeks. It is attempting to catch the train that saw me have an unexpected Parkour experience.

Dressed in my suit and coat and carrying a load of files under my right arm I meandered down the street toward the station after finishing another glorious bank day. The bells and whistles started going and it seemed the train had arrived early. I burst into a sprint and rounded the corner to the platform to be confronted with a 7 foot high iron spiked fence that’s entry gate had been closed.

I was possessed. Looking back on it now I have no idea why I went for it. I raced forward and reached up grabbing hold of the top of one of the fence spikes with my left hand while still holding the files in the other. Then, with a huge surge of adrenalin pumping through me, I vaulted clear over the fence, landed on the platform and leapt through the air turning to the side to fit between the closing train sliding doors.

The stunned onlookers in the carriage were no match for my own disbelief. I was absolutely flabbergasted. As the train pulled away I looked through the window at the fence in wonder. I had been possessed. I had performed physical feats I’m not sure to this day I could repeat. The question that still remains with me is…

Who did that?

I think it could only have been the hidden powers of the Inspector Gadget coat.
